Sigma Tau Delta (official website: english.org) is the International English Honor Society for undergraduate and graduate students. The Alpha Mu Nu chapter at Washington College, headed by Professor Corey Olsen, recognizes students who excel in the study of English Language and Literature and offers them opportunities to enrich their education and careers.
Membership Requirements
- Must be an English Major.
- Must have completed three English courses, two of which should be upper-level.
- Have at least a 3.67 GPA in English courses.
- Rank in the top thirty-five percent of your class.
- Note: Members are inducted by invitation only; there is no application process.
Opportunities for Members
Members may participate in organizational conferences and conventions as well as be eligible for grants and scholarships.
Through the Society, Washington College students are also eligible for publication in Sigma Tau Delta's numerous academic journals and newsletters.
